What's the point of MIDI if you can record with a line-in to your computer?
Hi, I was just wondering what the point of MIDI was, if you can just plug your synthesiser/keyboard into the input port of your computer and record properly - as MIDI doesn't record your exact playing, you get a much truer sound with the input method and if you are using a synthesiser, you don't get relegated to using the standard GM voices. Why do people use MIDI and why isn't the 'input method' more popular?
Midi is a game port and while you arent able to record(which you should be able to do) attempt plugging as well into the microphone slot
